Got the BEST BBQ? Prove it!!!!

The 2011 Old Towne BBQ Rib and Burger Cook-off will be for the best of the best in amateur bbq!

Interested in entering? Here are the rules.

1. All groups must register by June 1, 2011 12 noon.
2. Entry fee $30 per group
3. You must supply ALL of your own supplies meaning grill, charcoal, gas cups, plates, tent, table, chair, etc..
4. The event will be held rain or shine
5. There will be a total of 6 judges. Each judge must have one plate.
6. You must provide samples to the general public in disposable ramekins
7. Categories: BBQ Rib and Burger each category is $30.00
8. Each team must be to set up between the hours of 5am and 6am the morning of the event. All teams not set up by 6 am will forfeit their entry.
9.Each team must keep their cook-site clean. Bring your own trash bags.
10. No selling of BBQ will be allowed
11. Meats are subject to inspection by the BBQ judging committee
12. This will be a blind judging.
13. All meat and beans must be cooked on site.
14. Cooking and preparation must begin immediately after inspection
15. Teams may provide any type of bbq pit or smoker. Gas grills not allowed
16. Judging based on taste, tenderness, aroma and appearance. Sauce for judges plate must be on the side and there must not be any garnish. Garnish calls for immediate dismissal
17. Judging trays must be free of any markings. Teams are responsible for delivering their trays to the judges table by 12 noon for the burgers and 3pm for the BBQ.
18. The award ceremony will be that Saturday at 5pm
19. Judges decision is final
